Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has legally split from his wife of 17 years, Suzanne Emma.

The marriage was dissolved by a Lagos Island Customary Court, presided over by Awo Awosola, Opeyemi Olanrewaju and Kehinde Jacob Olayinka.

Emma had reportedly filed for divorce, which was granted after she alleged that the veteran actor physically abused her.

Emeka Ike had denied the allegations, and had initially begged the court to not consider the divorce.

Awosola said in the court’s judgement: “Emeka, who has been begging to be reconciled with his wife, has not made any effort towards the reconciliation. The marriage is hereby dissolved with effect from March 2, in accordance with the Lagos State Customary Court Law, 2011; Order 3 Rule 7 as amended. Any party that is not satisfied with the judgment has the right to appeal to any court of higher jurisdiction within 30 days from today.”

Ike was granted primary custody of the couple’s 4 kids, though Emma has access to them whenever she wants.

She has also returned the bride price of N300 which he paid when they got married.
