Singer Mr. Eazi has once again claimed that Nigerian Afrobeats artistes are copying his Ghanaian-influenced style.

In an interview with Capital XTra, he claimed that he had achieved in one year what took his “contemporaries 5, 6 years”, and that they all wanted to copy his sound.

He added: “And that is what has been this year, if you want to count like 5 afrobeat, it’s like everybody just realized that ‘yo what formula is Mr Eazi using?’ Ok we’re gonna end up doing it”.

It’s not the first time he’d make a similar statement. Back in January, he received serious backlash on Twitter for claiming Ghanaian music influenced Nigerian music.

His tweets read: “Ghana’s influence on present day “Naija Sound” cannot be over emphasized!!!

“Ask your favourite artiste or producer all na akaida! does not in any way undermine the awesomeness of Naija at some point The SA vibe was major.”

What do you think of Eazi’s persistent stance on Ghanaian music being better than Nigerian music?
