American TV show host and political commentator Tomi Lahren has had her TV show, Tomi, suspended after she supported abortion rights.
24-year old Lahren rose to fame during the campaigns ahead of the 2016 US Presidential Elections. Her show is hosted on The Blaze, a conservative TV network.
She had made the pro-abortion comments while making an appearance on ABC’s The View, last week.
Ms Lahren said: “I’m someone that is for limited government, so I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government, but I think that the government should decide what women do with their bodies.
“I can sit here and say that, as a Republican and I can say, you know what, I’m for limited government, so stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well.”
The network’s managing director, Leon Wolf, told CNNMoney that “Tomi’s show will not be in production this week.”
Conservatives are strictly anti-abortion, and there are reports that The Blaze might cut her show entirely.
The network’s founder, Glenn Beck, said on his radio show: “I try to hire people who have a different opinion because I believe in being intellectually rigorous. I don’t want straw men. I want people to make a real argument on the other side so we can learn from each other and we can grow.”
