A first trailer has been released for upcoming war movie 12 Strong, which stars Chris Hemsworth. 

The trailer comes a week to the release of Hemsworth’s latest film, Thor: Ragnarok. 

The movie’s full title is 12 Strong: The Declassified True Story Of The Horse Soldiers, and is a true story of a small band of American soldiers in Afghanistan joining forces with local Afghan troops to fight the Taliban on horseback, navigating the unforgiving terrain with World War I-era tactics.

It is based on the best-selling book, Horse Soldiers, by Doug Stanton.

The movie is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who is no stranger to war movies, having overseen Black Hawk Down.

Hemsworth is joined in the cast by Michael Peña, Michael Shannon and Moonlight’s Trevante RhodesNicolai Fuglsig is directing.

Oscar winner Ted Tally (The Silence of the Lambs) and Peter Craig (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Parts 1 & 2″) wrote the screenplay, based on the acclaimed book.
