Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has denied reports that he plans to run for the President of the United States in the future.

Speaking to BuzzFeed News, Zuckerberg made it clear what his priorities were, and US presidency was not one of them.

“No,” he said in response to a question about him running.  “I’m focused on building our community at Facebook and working on the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.”

The Chan Zuckerberg initiative is a corporation founded by Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan, and focuses on improving education and science research.

BuzzFeed also quoted a source as saying: “There’s absolutely no truth to the idea that Mark is running for office and I’ve heard it directly from him. Here’s the thing: For Mark, Facebook is global community that already plays this huge part in the lives of billions of people around the world and plays an incredibly important role in shaping the base on the issues that matter.”

The speculations that the internet mogul was considering the White House post was fueled after Bloomberg revealed court documents that showed he had a found a way to hold a public office and still keep control of his company.

Zuckerberg had revealed plans to visit every state in the United States this year, and it has also been interpreted by some as an opportunity to meet local leaders to gather support.

It’s possible that some other office than the White House is Zuckerberg’s aim, or maybe his presidential ambitions aren’t ready yet.
