The Oshodi, Lagos office of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration & Control was today engulfed by fire.

According to reports, the fire started in the main office premises before spreading to the warehouse, where chemicals are stored.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency have already begun tackling the fire.

“Investigation at the incident scene of fire outbreak at Nafdac office, Oshodi revealed that the fire started at about 3.15 pm today Saturday 18th March 2017,” LASEMA general manager Adesina Tiamiyu said.

“The inferno started from the power house, escalating to the nearby warehouse where chemicals were stored.”

“The fire has been put under control as damping exercise is presently ongoing.”
