South Korean president Park Geun-hye has been battling a lot of controversy, with the most recent a stash of Viagra pills found in her office.

Viagra pills are commonly used to treat erectile dysfucntion, and authorities found them will searching Park’s office over corruption allegations.

In a response however, the government claimed the pills were proclaimed to help Park cure altitude sickness. It confirmed that 364 pills were purchased when Park had traveled to East Africa, but said the pills were never used. She had visited Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya, countries which existed higher above the sea level than normal.

Viagra as a drug was initially developed to treat angina, but it had shown to be more useful giving erections during trials. Because of the anatomical similarities between the lungs and the penis, it is at times used by climbers to prevent pulmonary hypertension.

One of the criticisms that has trailed the President is her friendship with Choi Soon-sil, who many believe has been influencing her negatively. Choi Soon-sil is the daughter of Choi Tae-min, an infamous religious leader who had ties to the president’s father, former president Park Chung-hee.

Protests have been going on for weeks in the Asian country calling for her’s resignation, but she has continuously ignored them.
