Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata says the club’s 4-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday was a message to the rest of the Premier League.

Morata’s hat-trick gave him 6 goals in 6 appearances for The Blues, and he had special praise for the fans after they changed the wordings to an offensive chant about him.

“It’s football. Sometimes the ball doesn’t [go in], like against Arsenal, and today, we had two chances and made two goals,” he told the club website of Chelsea’s first-half display.

“We sent a good message to all the Premier League. Chelsea is in the fight for the title and it’s the thing that we want.

“The most important thing is we won today. It’s a difficult place to come, but we won and now we can look ahead to the Champions League.”
