The Nevada State Athletic Commission has revealed that a boxing event involving Floyd Mayweather Jr. will hold on the 26th of August.

The commission’s chairman, Anthony Marnell, gave Mayweather Promotions the approval today to hold an event that day at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Is the date for the much expected super fight between Conor McGregor and Mayweather? Highly unlikely.

“I do not have any completed boxing license for McGregor or Mayweather,” NSAC executive director Bob Bennett told MMA Fighting. “I have no documents from the promoters requesting this fight and/or for this fight to be approved.”

There had been reports that Mayweather actually wanted the date pulled, but here it is.
