Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has revealed that captain John Mikel Obi will have a starting shirt, no matter his club issues.
Mikel Obi has found playing time very scarce under new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, and is widely expected to leave the club very soon.
A number of European clubs are rumored to be interested in Mikel, including Olympique Marseille & Valencia. There are also reports of a move to China.
Rohr revealed recently that wherever Mikel may choose to move to, his staring spot in the Eagles will always be available.

“I prefer Mikel stays in Europe and play in an European team,” Rohr said.
“When I was in London two weeks ago, we spoke about that. But Mikel is an experienced and intelligent player and he knows what to do.
“If he decides to choose the money of China, then we must respect that.
“If he goes to China and is playing well, he will come (to the Super Eagles).”
