The family of Senegal striker Saido Mane has been under attack in the country over his miss at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mane had missed the penalty that had sent Senegal out of the competition as the were eliminated in the quarter final by eventual winners Cameroon.

The attacks had begun at his house in Malika, and his relatives there had fled to his uncle’s house.

The thugs attacking them followed them there, and destroyed a £26,000 (N15,600,00) SUV that Mane had bought for his uncle.

The Sun reports: “They turned their fury on his car and completely trashed it.

“Mane’s uncle and his family have reported these persons to the police. We just hope they will get the punishment they deserve.

24-year old Mane signed for Premier League side Liverpool last summer, and has scored 11 goals as the Reds push for Champions League football.
