UEFA has released its 2016 Team Of The Year, with the bulk of it, as usual, coming from La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

8 players in the team play in the La Liga. Two of the named players play in the Serie A, with the final name from the German Bundesliga. No player from the English Premier League was named.

Real Madrid had the most representatives, with 4 players in the team: defender Sergio Ramos, midfielders Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, and forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo made up the front 3 alongside his fellow 2016 Ballon D’Or nominees, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.
