Saturday was a very sad day for Zambian footballer Diego Mulenga, who played for the Chipolopolo as they faced the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Mulenga, who plays for Zambian club Zanaco FC, had a goal ruled out in the clash, with Zambia eventually losing 1-0.

The loss ended Zambia’s hopes of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

After the match however, Mulenga was given the worst news – his daughter back home in Zambia had passed away.

He returned to Zambia immediately, and his daughter was laid to rest today at New Leopards Hill Cemetery in Lusaka Central, Lusaka.
