In what seems to good to be true to a Nigerian, power producers in Germany had to pay users to use more electricity over the weekend.
Germany relies on wind power to create energy, and a particularly stormy weekend led to a record 39,409 megawatts of electricity generated.
To put that into perspective, that’s the amount of electricity that about 40 nuclear reactors would produce.
To keep supply and demand of the power grid in balance, producers had the option of shutting down power stations or pay consumers to use excess energy.
Will Nigeria ever reach this stage?
