Rapper Will.I.Am on Wednesday released I.Am+ Buttons, his signature line of Bluetooth earphones.
The former The Black Eyed Peas front-man owns the company along side reality TV star and model Kendall Jenner, and top English model, Naomi Campbell.
The I Am+ Buttons earphones cost a whooping $230 (N108,100), and are available in the 4 colorways of the newly-released iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 doesn’t have an earphone jack since somebody at Apple decided to kill it off, and Bluetooth earphones may just be on the rise for users of the smartphone. Nice thinking, Will.
There are also 4 additional colors available for the Buttons, and Will.I.Am has promised to donate a portion to charity – the I.am.angel foundation, in particular.
In an interview with Refinery29, Will.I.Am revealed that he wanted to create phone accessories which could also be fashion statements.
“It took me a while to find garments that make me feel like me, and we all have this same feeling when we then have to go out and buy devices that don’t look like anything that we’re wearing. Why does the accessory only favor the phone and not my outfit? There has to be some middle ground between the two worlds. We all live on our tech and in our fashion, but those two worlds have not come together yet”
Will.I.Am does try to stick to his goal, and when not in use, the Buttons earphones can act as a necklace of sorts. The discs on the earbuds are magnetic, and can stick to each other to form a loop.
These earphones do seem pretty rad. What do you think?
