Adult movie star August Ames has been found dead barely hours after she faced criticism on social media for being homophobic.

23-year old Ames had turned down a video shoot because the actor she was supposed to work with had previously starred in a gay adult video shoot.

There is reportedly no indication of foul play in her death, and according to reports, the actress had previously battled depression.

And director Mike Quasar said: “Love one another kids. 23 is way too young. Such a sad day.”

Fellow star Annika Albrite, a friend of Ames, even implied that the recent backlash may have contributed to her death.

“Omg,I can’t believe she’s dead,” Albrite tweeted. “You people should have known better than to berate her over her personal thoughts! Shame on all you for beating it into the ground.

“Online harassment is a real thing & it claimed another life. Someone who I liked & would have even called a friend!”
