Popular American TV game show, The Price Is Right, is set to finally air in Nigeria.
According to multiple reports, it will be hosted by popular TV host and former host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Frank Edoho.
The show, which began in the US in 1956, sees contestants compete to win cash and prizes by guessing the pricing of merchandise.
Back in 2016, it was announced that Lagos-based Genesis Studio secured the right to air it, in collaboration with a London-based television content, production and distribution company, Fremantle Media.
According to the Chief Executive Officer, Genesis Studios, which produced TV dramas such as So Wrong So Wright and Tales of Eve, Mr. Olatubosun Olaegbe, the company bought into the show because it is engaging and family-friendly.
He said, “We have been looking for a world-class game show that would engage and entertain the entire family and The Price is Right is the perfect format for us and we know it will be a big success in Nigeria. I am grateful to Fremantle Media for a partnership that ensures Nigerians will benefit from the wide acceptability of the show and, most importantly, the simplicity of its audience rating, which means that even the very young could participate and smile home with mouthwatering prizes.”
