If you’ve ever visited any locations of Hard Rock Cafe, one thing you’d notice is the amount of memorabilia on the walls.
From authentic guitars to actual performance outfits, Hard Rock has the largest private collection of rock and roll memorabilia. Mementos belonging to greats such as Michael Jackson and Elton John can be seen in the various Hard Rock Cafe locations.
And now, Nigeria’s very own King Sunny Ade has joined this iconic group of performers.
In a ceremony on Wednesday, 30th November, the legendary Afro-juju singer vintage Fender Guitar, album cover, and other personal items as he became the very first Nigerian to be awarded this honor.
“I’m honored to be the first Nigerian musician to donate personal items to Hard Rock’s world-famous collection and to be showcased alongside other legendary artists,” King Sunny Ade said at the induction.
“Hard Rock embraces all genres of music, and I’m thrilled to help represent Juju music and inspire others around the globe.”
King Sunny Ade was also honored by Chivas, who presented him with Chivas Regal 25 Year Original Blended Whisky. They also created a signature drink in his honor, aptly named Ondo Regale.
The Hard Rock Cafe brand has over 81,000 valuable memorabilia, including Jimi Hendrix’s V guitar and front doors of The Beatles’ Abbey Road studio.
