The Oyo state government has donated 5 million Naira to the family of late actor, Chief Adebayo Faleti, for his burial.
This was revealed by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun.
Arulogun stated that the government will provide other necessary logistics as deemed fit towards the burial of “the man whose contributions to the exposition and development of yoruba culture and arts in Oyo state and in Nigeria in general cannot be underestimated.”
He enjoined stakeholders in theatre arts, culture, broadcasting and Yoruba literature to attend the various events scheduled as a befitting mark of honour and to pay their last respects to a worthy ambassador of Oyo State.
Mr. Ayoola Faleti, who spoke on behalf of the Faleti’s family, thanked the state government for the “generous donation and support” towards the burial of the veteran broadcaster and actor.
He said that the Faleti family will forever be grateful to the Ajimobi-led administration for the gesture.
A Commendation service is set to hold Wednesday September 6 2017 at Salem Baptist Church in Yemetu, Adeoyo Road Ibadan by 12pm.
The Lying-in-state to hold on Thursday the 7th of September at the home of the deceased around 8am, before Ile Akede Ibadan at 10am and at NTA Ibadan at 11:00am.
His final burial will hold at Agboye Village in Ogbomoso on Friday the 8th of September.
