Superstar rapper Olamide released his latest studio album, Lagos Nawa, across various media platforms today.
The album is his 7th, and continues his tradition of releasing an album every year, something he’s done since he entered the industry in 2011.
It’s quite an amazing feat for an artiste in an ecosystem where albums are thought to be pointless, and only hit singles are necessary. Tekno still doesn’t have a body of work to his name, and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy has previously stated about how some artistes release albums and decline.
Nevertheless, Olamide has continued to give his fans project after project. His latest effort however, was met with much criticism on social media.
CDQ’s one and only album better than all Olamide albums combined and that’s a fact.

Lmfao I’m still cringing. Olamide really went to the studio with his crew to record rubbish and gave his fans. Like, he really didn’t care. Complete and utter tripe.

There was some criticism for the album’s production, which was handled exclusively by Young John The Wicked Producer.
Some higher power should get Ill Bliss to executive produce one more album from Olamide and we’ll get what we’ve been waiting for.

First listen to Lagos Nawa and I genuinely feel like Olamide is burnt out in terms putting together an album. I stan for him heavy regardless 👌🏽

Others are giving it a chance to grow on them.
I won’t have a proper opinion on Olamide’s album till I listen for a few weeks. But this first semi-listen didn’t go well at all.

Of course, some people thought it was a dope record.
