Marking his first ever appearance on daytime television, singer The Weeknd stopped by The Ellen Show, and performed Starboy.
The Weeknd has just released his third studio album, also titled Starboy. Prior to appearing on Ellen, he’d also made stops at Beats 1 for an interview with Zane Lowe and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he also performed Starboy and I Feel It Coming.
The singer, who’s now a star performer, had revealed in his interview with Lowe that it hadn’t always been so.
“I used to get on stage drunk [because] of nerves,” he admitted. “You have to fight the nerves. You have to fight [being scared]. That’s something I had to do and once I did, I feel like people are more nervous to see me than I am to see them.”
Starboy is expected to debut at number one on the Billboard 200, with an estimated 350,000-400,000 album units moved in first week sales. He’d be performing the album next year when his Legends of the Fall tour begins.
