Honorable Abayomi Ayeaola, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, has passed away.

Before his death, Ayeola represented the Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency, Lagos State.

He was aged 59.

Ayeola reportedly died on Sunday at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos, after battling an undisclosed ailment.

His remains have been scheduled for burial on Monday (today) according to Islamic rites.

The two-term lawmaker had clinched the ticket of the All Progressives Congress to contest for a third term in the 2019 general elections.

The lawmaker was the leader of the Lagos State caucus in the House until his death.
