There is absolutely no chill in the Chinese Super League right now. They have astronomical amounts of money, and are willing to spend it anyhow.
They have signed a number of former European stars, including Carlos Tevez from Boca Juniors, and Oscar from Chelsea.
Tevez reportedly earns £615,000 per week. And as cray as that sounds, a Chinese club was ready to offer almost 3 times that to Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, a Chinese team had made an offer of £250 million to Real Madrid, and were willing to offer the Portuguese legend £1.6m per week if Real Madrid accepted the deal.
Mendes told Sky Italia: “From China, they’ve offered 300m euros (£257m) to Real Madrid and more than 100m per year to the player.
“But money is not everything. The Spanish club [Real] is his life.”
“The Chinese market is a new market. They can buy a lot of players, but then again it is impossible to go for Ronaldo. Cristiano is the best player in the world and best ever. It is normal to have some offers,” said Mendes.
Ronaldo recently signed a new contract with Real Madrid, which will keep him at the club till 2021.
