Arsenal have been dealt a severe blow with central midfielder Santi Cazorla set to miss the rest of the season.
The Spaniard hasn’t played since October, and a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury means he’d be out for the rest of Arsenal’s campaign.
He had limped off with an Achilles injury in Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League clash against Ludogorets, and was expected to return to the field next month.
The Gunners’ only real hope of silverware this season lies in the FA Cup. They are 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea, and face an uphill task after losing 5-1 in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash.
