FC Barcelona have announced the signing of Palmeiras defender Yerry Mina for €11.8m (£10.5m).
The Colombian defender signs a 5-and-a-half year deal with Los Cules, after joining the Brazilian side in 2016. He will wear the number 24 jersey.
A statement on Barcelona’s website said: “Yerry Mina now comes to Barça with the opportunity to continue developing as a footballer following his move to Europe. Without a doubt the Colombian has the potential to make it.”
The deal comes as Barcelona are reportedly ready to let go of veteran defender Javier Mascherano, who is rumored to be moving to Chinese side Hebei China Fortune.
He becomes the La Liga leader’s second signing of the January summer, following the blockbuster signing of Coutinho from Liverpool.
