Despite a poor start to the Bundesliga by their standards, Bayern Munich have expressed full confidence in manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The defending Bundesliga champions are second place behind surprise-package RB Leipzig. They were also unable to secure first spot in the UEFA Champions League group.
Club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s main target is the UEFA Champions League, and says Carlo Ancelotti is just having teething problems. He maintains that club is fully behind the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager.
“Carlo is the only coach around who has won the Champions League three times,” Rummenigge said. “It would be a mistake to expect him to deliver the fourth straight away.
“Of course, we want to win the Champions League, but we want to take things one step at a time.
“Carlo apologised to me after the loss versus Rostov.
“I told him that we win together and that we lose together and that he has our full support.”
