Manchester City won a hard fought Barclays Premier League tie against defending champions Chelsea on Saturday evening.
The match was decided by a lone goal from former Chelsea player Kevin De Bruyne, who fired a rocket of a shot past Thibaut Courtois.
City were without key man Sergio Aguero, who was a victim of a car crash on Thursday. Chelsea also saw their striker Alvaro Morata limp off with an injury in the first half.
Gabriel Jesus almost scored a second for City when his volley from Raheem Sterling’s cross was headed off the line by Antonio Rudiger.
City – who are top on goal difference – had briefly been overtaken by Manchester United, who beat Crystal Palace 4-0 earlier on Saturday.
