Former Manchester United player Ander Herrera has hit out at the club’s front office, saying football was not always their priority.
Speaking to So Foot, as cited and translated by Sport Witness, Herrera claimed that football was not the most important factor at Manchester United.
Instead, he teased that business is the real priority.
“I was very happy at that incredible club. I am very grateful to the supporters,” Herrera explained.
“Frankly, I was immensely happy in Manchester, but at the club, there were times when I felt that football was not considered the most important thing.”
When asked what was the most important thing at the club, Herrera responded: “I will not say it.”
The interviewer again prodded, asking whether Herrera meant business was the priority.
“That does not come out of my mouth,” Herrera then responded.
“I don’t know, but football was not the most important thing in Manchester. I do not want to compare, all I know is that here, I feel like I’m breathing football on all sides. And I like it.”
