Tottenham Hotspurs striker Harry Kane has revealed that he is still hopeful of beating Romelu Lukaku to the Premier League Golden Boot award.

Kane is 4 goals behind the Everton number 9, and faces a tough challenge to win his second Golden Boot, after winning it last year.

Kane confirmed in a recent interview with the Spurs official website that he was following Everton’s games and keeping track of Lukaku’s progress.

“It’s hard not to!,” he said. “As a striker you want to be top scorer in the league, no doubt about it.

“I left a couple out there I probably should have scored (against Bournemouth on Saturday). Lukaku has been doing well and it’s a good competition but the main thing is we’re winning games.

“I’ve a little eye on the run-in and if I can get a few more, we’ll see what happens!”

Behind Kane and Lukaku are Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez on 19 goals, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic on 17 goals.

Both Kane and Lukaku face West Ham next in the Premier League, with Lukaku looking forward to that match up, having scored in his last 9 games against the Hammers.
