Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr has told Kelechi Iheanacho a move away from Manchester City would be “logical.”
Iheanacho has started only 4 Premier League games all season, and his situation has only been made worse by the arrival of in-form Brazilian teenager, Gabriel Jesus.
Speaking to Own Goal Nigeria, Rohr said: ” Kelechi has qualities and his manager is aware of that, but sometimes it depends on how the team plays. If he (Kelechi) is not getting games at City, the logical thing to do will be to move elsewhere and play.”
In another interview, he reiterated his belief in Kelechi’s ability and said he could make the squad.
I am sure Kelechi will come back to this team,” Rohr told Africanfootball.com. “He’s a fighter, he has a good fighting spirit.
“This player is a good athlete and he has a good mind. I have spoken with him and he will come back.
“He’s a young player, so sometimes he plays, sometimes he doesn’t. And for a big club like Manchester City, you can’t play all the time. I believe he will come back to play for City again.”
