Matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League ended on Wednesday, with Chelsea and Barcelona securing qualification. Read our full recap below.

UEFA Champions League Group A

Manchester United failed to confirm qualification from Group A after losing 1-0 at Basel. The results throws the group wide open, as CSKA Moscow’s victory over last-placed Benfica puts them level on points with Basel.

UEFA Champions League Group B

Paris St. Germain smashed the record for the most Group stage goals as they put 7 past Celtic.

PSG have already qualified alongside second placed Bayern Munich, but the German champions are still within reach of the first spot following a 2-1 away win at Anderlecht.

UEFA Champions League Group C

Chelsea confirmed their place in the Final 16 of the Champions League with a 4-0 drumming of Qarabag.

Atletico Madrid kept their knockout round hopes alive with a 2-0 win over AS Roma, and must now hope Roma drop points against Qarabag to qualify.

UEFA Champions League Group D

Barcelona confirmed their position as the group’s leaders in a 0-0 draw with second placed Juventus.

The Turin giants have not yet qualified however, as a 3-1 win for Sporting Lisbon against Olympiacos means the Portuguese side is just a point behind them heading into the final match day.
