Camera quality has become one of the most contested aspects in the battle for smartphone supremacy, and Huawei is planning to take it to a whole new level.
According to reports surfacing online, the next phone in the company’s P-series could be coming with 3 rear cameras, taking photos at up to 40 megapixels.
Is the next Huawei P-series going to be an imaging powerhouse? A digital artist at one of the company’s creative agencies added these “PCE Series” ads to their portfolio — claiming 40MP, 3 lens rear (5x hybrid zoom) + 24MP selfie, all Leica-co-developed. pic.twitter.com/t8w3VlL55L

According to the ads the phone is apparently co-engineered by camera company, Leica, and has some pretty impressive specs like triple lens rear cameras with 40-megapixel pictures, 5x hybrid zooming and and a 24-megapixel selfie camera.
Devices in Huawei’s P series have come with great cameras in the past, with the P10 packing a dual-lens, 20- and 12-megapixel rear camera setup and 8-megapixel front camera.
The P10 was unveiled in January, and Huawei has not yet said a word on the P11, so we’ll just have to wait and see if these rumors are true.
