In about 5 days, Tecno will launch the its latest flagship device, the Tecno Phantom 8.
While there’s been little official information about the phone, there have been a ton of rumors flying about Tecno’s latest offering.
The first thing that stands out is the device’s name, with Tecno, for yet unknown reasons, choosing to skip 7. The last Phantom released was the Phantom 6, but the phone giants chose to name this next device the Phantom 8.
Like its predecessor, the Phantom 8 is expected to have a regular and a Plus version. The Plus is expected to be stronger than the regular than the regular version, packing a heavy 6GB of RAM to the latter’s 4GB of RAM.
The device is said to be the same Tecno AX8 which was spotted on GeekBench weeks back, showing off an octa-core processor and a CPU speed of 2.60 GHz.
The Phantom 8 Plus is also rumored to be a new high for Tecno in terms of internal memory, as it is expected to come with 128 gigabytes of internal storage.
Judging by teaser photos so far, camera seems to be one of the selling points of the new device. According to some reports, the Phantom 8 will come with a 20-megapixel front camera, which would be extremely amazing.
A leaked render of the device shows a dual-camera set up at the rear, and a front display with the thinnest of side bezels. The Tecno Phantom series has always been aesthetically strong, and this model certainly looks like keeping up with the trend.
The device is going to be launched in Dubai on Sunday, October 22.
